The Comedy of Errors, Propeller, The Lyric

Having thoroughly enjoyed Propeller's A Midsummer Night's Dream, I awaited this performance with great anticipation. I was not let down. I laughed until I cried. The use of modern tunes and texts made it stand out amongst all other Shakespeares.

I was never a fan of Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet- but this took the premise to a whole new level. They engage with people who may otherwise see Shakespeare as out of touch.

I particularly enjoyed the portrayal of Dromio, and the farcical portrayal of Adriana. The attitude the actor put into playing her was exquisite to watch.

I am short on time this evening, so all that I will leave you with is that you absolutely must watch this performance. The actors are incredible, the music is stimulating, the comedy is superb. The chorus didn't even take a break during intermission, preferring instead to play music in the lobby to raise money for charity.

A wonderful bunch, and I hope to see more of them.
