The Ladykillers- Theatre Royal, The Lyric

I wasn't sure what to expect from this show. I managed to get a Friday Fiver ticket and went with a few friends. I supposed it would be gently humorous and quickly forgettable.

What I certainly was not expecting was to be crying with laughter. The silly plot with such excellent acting and staging was a treat. The moving scenery was wonderful, and the use of the stage was exciting. I didn't want it to end!

Silly accents, hilarious insider jokes and the general funniness of the script meant that we all had a brilliant evening.

One of the highlights for me was the car chase. I won't spoil it for you on here, but I thought it was an absolutely fantastic portrayal and fit in with the show excellently.

I would highly recommend going to see this if you would like some light hearted fun. Crudeness is almost non-existent, and the whole of the audience thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I have a sneaking suspicion that the cast did, too.

9.5/10
